Alan H. Cohen, M.D.
Dr. Cohen is a board-certified neurologist, and a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. After earning his undergraduate degree in physics and quantitative biology at MIT, he went on to complete his medical degree at New York University, where he won the Valentine Mott award for outstanding student in anatomy, the Founder’s Award for outstanding student and was named to the AOA National Medical fraternity. He then completed his internship in surgery and his Neurology residency at the University of Minnesota. Following two years in the US Air Force, where he served as the chief of neurology at Ehrling Bergquist USAF hospital in Omaha, he began practice in clinical neurology in California and has continued for 42 years to serve the community. During this time, Dr. Cohen has been associate clinical professor of neurology at UC Irvine Medical School, chief of the department of medicine, chief of staff, and a member of the board of directors at Los Alamitos Medical Center. He has been named as Outstanding Physician in California several times. His special interests include neuroradiology electrodiagnostics, peripheral neurologic diseases, and movement disorders.
Omid Omidvar, M.D.
Dr. Omidvar is board certified in neurology. He received his medical degree, Diplôme d'État de Docteur en Médicine from Faculte de Medecine de Rouen, France. He was first fascinated by the study and practice of neurology because “The brain is the final frontier of the human body. I was initially drawn to this field because of the multitude of neurological conditions that were lacking a therapeutic answer," says Dr. Omidvar. After finishing his residency in
Neurology at the Harbor-University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center, he later served as
the department’s Chief Resident.
Dr. Omidvar has contributed to more than 40 neurological clinical trials in collaboration with CNS network and is the four-time recipient of the “Patients’ Choice Award.” He has been repeatedly listed in the "Consumers' Guide to Top Docotors" and has been the recepient of “Outstanding Teaching Award.” Dr. Omidvar currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the David Geffen University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine and is the Co-medical director of the MemorialCare Rehabilitation Institute at Long Beach Memorial. He has a special interest in Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinsons Disease, Autonomic Disorders, Stroke and immune mediated neurological disorders including Multiple Sclerosis. He is fluent in English, French and Farsi.

School of Medicine and completed his Residency, Chief Residency, and Stroke Fellowship at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center.He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He enjoys teaching neurology and internal medicine residents and
has been awarded the “Outstanding Teaching Award” for the last three years. Dr. Patel is the Medical Director of the Stroke program and the
Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine at Los Alamitos Medical
Center. Additionally, he serves as the Section Chief of Neurology at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. He actively participates in clinical research in the field of Neurology with CNS Network. He has a special interest in Stroke, Migraine Headache, Alzheimer's Disease, and
Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Patel is a well known speaker on the use of Botox for treatment of Migraines. He also is a member of the speakers bureau for the treatment of Epilepsy and Alzheimer's. Nima Ramezan, M.D.
Dr. Ramezan is Board Certified in Neurology, Vascular Neurology, and Clinical Neurophysiology. He attended University of California Irvine as an undergraduate and received Bachelors of Science in Biology and Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. He then obtained his Medical Degree at the University of California Irvine College of Medicine. He subsequently completed his Internship, Neurology Residency, and fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Ramezan is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at UCLA Geffen School of Medicine and has been involved with the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He enjoys teaching residents and was awarded the “Outstanding Voluntary Clinical Instructor” in 2009.

With his interest in clinical neurophysiology, he routinely performs Nerve Conduction Study/EMGs and interprets Electroencephalograms (EEG). He also has been Certified in Neurosonology and interpretation of Transcranial Doppler studies. He is fluent in English and Farsi.

Michael Thompson, M.D.
Dr. Thompson is board certified in neurology with a special interest in
Seizures, Peripheral Nerve Disorders and Stroke. He is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his Residency, Chief Residency and Fellowship at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center. During his Fellowship, Dr. Thompson focused on Nerve and Muscle Disorders, as well as Seizure/Epilepsy Diagnosis and Treatment. Dr. Thompson joined Southland Neurologic Associates in
2012.
