Dr. Alan Cohen is the recepient of The
"Hundred Best Doctors" award for the
years 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 from the
Orange County Magazine; Dr. Nirav Patel
and Dr. Omid Omidvar , were chosen as
the "Outstanding Teaching Attendings"
at St Mary Medical Center affiliated with
UCLA School Medicine, they both are
Assitant Clinical Professors at UCLA
School of Medicine.
Dr. Nima Ramezan has recently joined
our neurological practice. He is fellowship
trained in neuro-electrophysiology, and is
one of the clinical faculties at the M.S.
clinic at the Harbor- UCLA Medical Center.

Our physicians at Southland Neurologic
Associates combine extensive experience,
compassion and the latest technology in
addressing your neurological concern. Our
physicians are certified by the American
Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
Neurology is the medical subspecialty that
treats disorders of the nervous system.
This includes diseases of the brain, spinal
cord, nerves, and muscles. Some of the
more common problems that a neurologist
will diagnose and treat are strokes,
epilepsy (seizures), headaches, dementias
(Alzheimer's disease), multiple sclerosis,
Parkinson's disease, and various forms of
pain. Neurologists may serve as
consultants to other physicians as well as
provide long-term care to patients with
chronic neurological disorders.

Electroencephalographies (EEG), Nerve
Conduction Velocities (NCV),
Electromyographies (EMG), Botox and
Transcranial Dopplers (TCD) are performed
at this office. We Program Deep Brain
Stimulators,Vagal Nerve Stimulators and
